Twilight Series Concert #4 - August 19
The final performance of the SALHACS 2023 Twilight Concert Series was a smashing success. Perfect weather combined with lively music performed by the very talented Typsy Gypsy Jazz Band made for a great wrap to the summer concert series. And we were joined by a group of younger swing dancers who added to the delight of the evening.
Many thanks to all who have supported these concerts through the Summer - while they were originally conceived as a fund raiser to help with the restoration of St. Andrews Lodge, it seems they are also something of a gift to the community - they consistently have drawn attendance in the range of 200 music lovers.
It seems the combination of the beautiful venue at the park adjoining the Lodge and live music is a winning one!

Twilight Series Concert #3 - August 5
Another great evening of music at beautiful Saahtlam Park. The Island Time Saxophone Quartet (and friends) presented a wide range of musical genres on Saturday. It was a perfect evening, finishing with a spectacular sunset.
Many thanks to the musicians, the volunteers who helped make it happen, and most especially to the SpeedWatch volunteers who kept traffic at a safe and sensible speed.

Twilight Series Concert #2 - July 8
Great music, a beautiful evening and dancing in the park - who could ask for more?
Many thanks to Topazz IV for one of the most engaging and fun evenings ever! Also, thanks to our volunteers and to the hundreds of people who turned out for our second 2023 Twilight Concert.

Arts & Music Festival - June 17, 2023
It was a stellar day at St. Andrews Lodge and the newly-named Saahtlam Park on Saturday, June 17. Hundreds of people of all ages turned out to enjoy the day-long Summer Arts and Music Fesitval, which featured 20 talented artists and artisans and live entertainment for all ages.
In addition to the official naming of the park, now known as Saahtlam Park, attendees enjoyed a celebration cake commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of beloved Lodge owner/operator Elizabeth Little.
The day wrapped up with the first of the Twilight Concert Series featuring the Arrowsmith Big Band. We are grateful for all of those who came out to enjoy the day and evening activities and who donated so generously to the Society.
Many of our elected officials were in attendance - thanks to Qualicum First Nation Chief Michael Recalma, MLA Adam Walker, Mayor Teunis Westbroek and Councillors Anne Skipsey, Petronella Vandervalk and Jean Young for taking time out of their busy lives to join us.
We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the dozens of volunteers who turned out to help with everything from setting up to cutting cake to cleaning up at the end of the day. And most importantly, we are grateful that this developed into a really wonderful day of community participation.
Thank you everyone!

Giant Yard Sale - August 13
Well, That Was One Heck of a Yard Sale!
Many thanks to the dozens of volunteers and hundreds of customers who showed up to set up, sell, purchase and tear down. We were incredibly fortunate with the weather (the heavens opened just as the last vehicle was pulling away) and are so grateful for the tremendous community support. It was a great day of camaraderie, fun and laughter. Many thanks to our customers for their patience, interest in the Lodge and enthusiasm. Special thanks to the Speed Watch crew who helped regulate traffic speed, and to the Qualicum Beach Museum for the loan of their tents, tables and chairs. It takes a village, and we live in one of the very best!
Outdoor Concert at the Lodge - July 9
Oh, what a night we had! The inaugural concert of the SALHACS Twilight Concert Series drew almost 250 attendees, who enjoyed a lovely evening of great music, a beautiful setting and camaraderie. Thanks so much to all who joined us, to the Island Brass Quintet and most especially, to our many dedicated volunteers who facilitated this splendid event.
We are sure Elizabeth Little was smiling down on us.
